walked

take
over
a
modest
tannery
in
the
early
1970s
in
a
newly
independent
Bangladesh
filled

uncertainty,

brimming

possibility.
One
event
during
those
early
days
still
captures
the
spirit
of
Apex.
The
tannery
had
secured
an
important
leather
export
order.
Before
shipment,
global
leather
prices
shot
up.
Apex
could
have
revised
the
price
many
expected
it.
But
Mr.
Elahi
stayed
true
to
his
word.
The
company
honored
the
contract
at
a
loss.
While
the
business
took
a
financial
hit,
something
far
more
valuable
was
earned:
a
reputation
for
honesty
and
integrity
that
would
go
on
to
define
the
brand.
That
moment
became
our
first
benchmark
of
leadership
proving
that
character
is
worth
more
than
short-term
gain.

the

gained

new

shoes
in
Bangladesh
for
the

In
1990,
Apex
established
its
own
footwear
manufacturing
unit
at
a
time
when
the
idea
of
exporting
Bangladeshi-made
footwear
was
met
with
doubt.
Infrastructure
was
limited,
global
buyers
were
hesitant,
and
the
industry
had
barely
begun.
But
Apex
believed
in
Bangladesh's
potential.
The
belief
turned
into
a
breakthrough:
our
very
first
international
footwear
shipment
to
Belgium.
This
was
more
than
just
a
delivery
it
was
a
message
to
the
world
that
Bangladesh
could
compete
in
global
fashion
and
manufacturing.
It
marked
the
beginning
of
Apex's
mission
to
redefine
“Made
in
Bangladesh”
as
a
